1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage or measurement code, work in a similar way, and this policy covers them too.
2. Cookies used on the Site
As of the date of this update, Google Analytics has not yet been activated on the Site, and the Site sets no measurement or advertising cookies.
Essential storage. On your first visit a cookie banner is shown. Your choice, "Accept" or "Essential only", is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) under the key gako-consent, so that we do not ask again on every visit. The choice is not sent to us and does not identify you.
Measurement and statistics cookies. Activated only after you accept:
- Google Analytics 4 by Google: the ga cookie distinguishes between visitors, and the _ga cookie with the measurement ID stores session state. Both expire after two years by default.
Marketing and advertising cookies. The Site does not use them. If we add such tools, for example an advertising pixel, we will update this policy and ask for separate consent before activating them.
External services that do not set cookies from the Site:
- The WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp. Once you move there, WhatsApp's privacy policy applies.
- Google Search Console, which shows us how the Site appears in Google Search, sets no cookies in your browser and gives us aggregated data only.
3. What Google Analytics measures
If you accept measurement cookies, Google Analytics will collect information for us about how the Site is used: pages visited, visit duration, how you arrived (for example from a Google search), device and browser type, and approximate location at city or country level.
We use this information in aggregate to understand which content is useful and to improve the Site. We will not use it to identify you and will not link it to details you submitted in forms.
Google retains the data for 14 months, after which it is deleted. Google also processes the data on servers outside Israel, as described in its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
4. How we ask for consent
When you enter the Site, a banner offers two options, "Accept" and "Essential only", of equal size and prominence, together with a link to this policy.
- Until you accept, no measurement tool will load or set cookies.
- There are no pre-ticked boxes, and continuing to browse is not treated as consent.
- You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
- Declining does not affect your use of the Site or its forms.
We will update this policy before activating any measurement tool.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
